"The light of Torah knows no borders."
Ohr Shimshon — Est. 5786
A Living Flame of Torah in the Digital Age
Kollel Ohr Shimshon is an online and hybrid Torah learning community built for serious, daily engagement with Gemara, Halacha, Tanach, and Mussar — open to scholars and beginners alike. We combine the rigorous standards of a traditional Beit Midrash with the accessibility of modern technology.
Whether you are an avreich seeking a structured chavrusa environment, a baal habayis who learns after work, or someone just beginning their journey into Torah — there is a place for you at Kollel Ohr Shimshon.
Our shiurim are livestreamed daily, archived for replay, and available in both Hebrew and English. The light of Torah knows no borders.
One Beis Midrash. Many Cities. One Torah.
Ohr Shimshon is a Beis Midrash built from relationships, not brick and mortar. Working Jews log in after a long day and find their chavrusa waiting — a contractor in Chicago, a teacher in London, a businessman in Jerusalem, all learning the same sugya at the same time.
Geography is not the point. The point is that Torah is being learned together, seriously and warmly, by men who refuse to let their day job become an excuse to let their learning go out.
From Toledo to Melbourne, one flame is passed hand to hand across time zones. The same daf. The same Rosh Kollel. The same Beis Midrash.
Keep the Light Burning.
There is a generation of Jewish men who work all day and long, quietly, for Torah at night.
They are teachers, contractors, salesmen, business owners. They carry a household on their shoulders and a sugya in their pocket. They do not need another lecture series. They need a Beis Midrash — a place, a chavrusa, a Rosh Kollel waiting for them.
Ohr Shimshon exists to keep that light burning. To make sure that when a working man finally sits down at the end of his day, someone is already there, sefer open, ready to learn with him.
Every session sponsored is a candle lit for a Jew who refused to let his Torah go out.
"כי נר מצוה ותורה אור"
"For a mitzvah is a candle, and Torah is light." — Mishlei 6:23

Torah for the Working Man
Built for Those Who Build the World.
Most Torah institutions are built around full-time learners. Kollel Ohr Shimshon is built for the Jew who works.
The school teacher. The contractor. The salesman. The business owner. A place where working men can reconnect to Torah without sacrificing their responsibilities.
That story is unique — and it's exactly who we're building this for.
Sponsor a Session
$650 / week
Covers one full week of learning — stipends for all 5 working men and the Rosh Kollel for our weekly session, up to 3 hours of serious Torah study after a full day's work.
Adopt a Working Man
